LSU wrapped its season on January 1 with a 40-32 victory over the previously unbeaten University of Central Florida (UCF) in the 2019 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. For the fourth time this season, LSU registered a victory over a top-10 team. The game was the Tigers' 10th win overall; the last time LSU reached the 10-win mark was in 2013. Since 2000, the Tigers are 12-7 in bowl games.
Although LSU trailed 14-3 in the first quarter, the team’s offense responded with 21 unanswered points for a 24-14 lead. UCF narrowed the Tigers' lead to 3 points before halftime, but a 32-yard touchdown catch by Ja'Marr Chase and three second-half field goals by Cole Tracy secured the win for LSU.
The Tigers finished the game with 550 total yards on offense, while Chase and Nick Brossette led the team in receiving and rushing yards with 93 and 117, respectively. Quarterback Joe Burrow finished the game with 394 yards passing and four touchdowns.
